LEXIS-NEXIS Europe, the world’s largest source of business intelligence, has announced the appointment of Daisy Veerasingham as its new Managing Director. Ms Veerasingham replaces Chris Jones, who is promoted to Senior Vice President for On-Line Publishing for both NEXIS and LEXIS Publishing, based in Dayton, Ohio. Ms Veerasingham was previously Director of Sales and Marketing for LEXIS-NEXIS Europe. Bill Pardue, NEXIS President and Chief Executive Officer says: “Daisy’s appointment forms part of an enhanced management structure that will continue to drive LEXIS-NEXIS forward globally. “Daisy is another example of the shining stars LEXIS-NEXIS Europe has in its management team. She is focused, committed to customer service, and will lead LEXIS-NEXIS’ continued expansion in Europe.” As the Sales and Marketing Director, Daisy Veerasingham was responsible for the revenue and costs for sales and first line support-related activities for the group’s European business. She was also responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s sales and product plans. Ms Veerasingham led a team of 70 staff. Ms Veerasingham said she is very optimistic about the future of LEXIS-NEXIS in Europe: “The coming months will bring greater brand recognition, an expansion in services and content, and new partnerships that will strengthen our ability to meet our customers’ need for timely and accurate on-line information.” Prior to her role in LEXIS-NEXIS Europe, Daisy, a law graduate, was the Sales and Marketing Director for Financial Times Electronic Publishing. She also worked for the Financial Times newspaper as a Sales and Marketing Manager. Editor’s Notes: 1.
