LEXIS-NEXIS ADDS NEW CONTENT TO MAKE EUROPEAN SEARCHING SIMPLER

LEXIS-NEXIS Europe has made searching for European news even simpler with the addition of two new content groups,Major World Newspapers (MWN) and Major World Publications (MWP), to their portfolio of over thirty one thousand online sources from around the world.

The addition of these news groups - collections of key US and European titles - will provide greater ease and relevance for European end-users. As the realm in which many businesses are operating changes and becomes increasingly European, it is clear that the business tools supporting them must evolve accordingly - and this means making search results relevant to the region.  Information specialists will continue to devise their own lists of searchable sources, but end-users wishing to search a broad range of titles within a specific region or market - with a minimum of preparation - can now select a LEXIS-NEXIS news group.

Available to users of LEXIS-NEXIS Professional and nexis.com, the MWN and MWP news groups offer various benefits. Major World Newspapers (MWN) is a collection of over 40 full text key national newspapers from around the world - indispensable for those seeking information on high profile personalities, world news events, major PLC companies and any news topics receiving extensive media coverage.

Major World Publications (MWP) collates key national newspapers, business magazines, trade press and newsletters from around the world. The collection excludes most newswire services and any US sources with a particularly domestic perspective, making it the ideal business tool for those seeking news with a greater European focus. MWP is ideal for searches on medium sized companies, aspects of major companies, topics with a reasonable amount of media coverage and emerging technologies.

Additionally, this strengthened European focus is supported by the availability of Global News Wire (GNW) on both MWN and MWP.  A news file of 800 news sources - 260 of which are unique to GNW - means users can select key English and foreign language content news sources from around the world, with almost 80 foreign titles translated into English and presented in abstract form.

Nigel Cope, Product Research and Development Director at LEXIS-NEXIS Europe, says: " In an expanding European business community it is vital users have access to market-specific information.  LEXIS-NEXIS products are developed with the aim of simplifying searching.  These news groups ensure that business and occasional information seekers in any market can use our unrivalled range of sources quickly and simply to achieve smarter and more effective results with a minimum of effort."
